The New Pathways Programme

Putting young people on the path to better health

Life is hard when you are living with a chronic illness. Nothing seems to make you feel better and while you are stuck at home, or not living the life you want, the best years of your life feel like they are passing you by.

Sound familiar?

It doesn’t have to be like this.

There’s been countless studies which show that our mental and physical health are connected. When life is challenging and our minds are not in good health, it has an impact on our bodies and vice versa.

The New Pathways Programme uses the powerful link between our bodies and minds to help young people like you to overcome complex chronic illnesses like chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety and chronic pain.

The three-step training and coaching programme can be done over Zoom and within a few weeks, you will learn how to get better, and also how to stay better.

Why should I do the Programme?

You might have given up on finding a ‘cure’ for your chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety or pain, but you’ll be impressed with how quickly you feel better with New Pathways.

Here’s just a few of the benefits that young people experience on the Programme:

See our Success stories page for uplifting stories of children and young people whose lives have been transformed by Steve.

What you learn on the programme

During the Programme, you’ll learn lots about yourself, how your mind can influence your health and what you need to know to get your life back on track including:

How dialling into your ‘fight and flight’ response every day can impact your mental and physical health.

The role of unconscious thoughts, feelings and responses in making you feel unwell.

What causes you stress and how to spot it when it starts creeping up.

How to manage and stop stress, so your mind and body stay healthy.

The tools to navigate life’s challenges, both now and as you get older.

Why does the New Pathways Programme work so well?

The New Pathways Programme tackles the root cause of many chronic illnesses – something called the ‘chronic stress response’.

The chronic stress response keeps your body in a state of high alert (as if its fighting for survival) when it doesn’t need to be. On the Programme, you learn how to use strategies and powerful techniques to rewrite the connections between the mind and body. This helps you cope with stressful situations without going into overdrive, which is damaging your health when it happens a lot.

The reason the programme gets results so fast is that the part of the brain that deals with working memory (the prefrontal cortex) which we need to re-educate is less developed in young people. Therefore, rewriting old pathways and establishing new positive ones can be done very quickly.

The Programme is easy to follow, simple to apply to your life and fun to learn, and it will begin to transform your wellbeing and your life in just a few weeks.

"I’ve gone from not being able to hold down a job and feeling like I had no prospects, to joining a gym, meeting a partner, moving into our own house together and getting a new job! I'd recommend Steve and the course to anyone."
